Wagah and the Palistan Border Closing Ceremony

No trip to Amritsar is complete without a trip 30KM further NW to the border of Pakistan to see the late afternoon border closing ceremonies. It's chaotic, crowded, and full of chest-thumping jingoistic revelry on both sides of the border.

The Golden Temple

The Golden Temple, Harmandir Sahib, located in Amritsar, the NW corner of Punjab. We spent several chilly days in this Sikh holy place around the turn of this year. A visit to the temple, and Amritsar, easily ranks as one of our most rewarding jaunts in India.
